«КАRАТ» company was founded in 1996 with the main profile of activity – wholesale and retail trade of the carpets and carpet products in Ukraine. With planning the expansion of our company’s field of activity, we decided to build our own carpet manufacturing factory in Ukraine.
2002 – the beginning of preparation and construction work.
2006 — our carpet and carpet products manufacturing factory was put into operation. This year was marked by the beginning of a new stage in the development of our company.
2008 — just in two years we increased the production capacity of our enterprise. More than 5 000 000 m² of carpets were produced per year.
2011 – we put the second work shop for carpets manufacture into operation, thereby increase the number of carpet weaving machines to 10 units, and pass the grade of 8 000 000 m² of products per year.
2013 – starting up the polypropylene yarn production line. We took a decision to build a new warehouse complex. Also, the company puts a new warehouse complex into operation; due to the installation of the second extrusion spinning machine, for synthetic yarn produstions, the company increases the volume of fiber production.
2014 – the company continues to work on expanding the range of products and markets. We put into operation a new machine for the production of carpet products, which allows us to produce carpets with a density of 1,000,000 pile bundles per m². We also expanded the capabilities of our yarn production department by installing a modern twisting and cabling machine, which allowed us to produce the yarns not only with using a wide color range, but also to provide various technical characteristics for the yarns.
2015 – “KARAT” company increases the number of weaving looms to 12 units, moreover, it remains to be a leader in the field of selling the goods of its own and imported production. The products are manufactured on the modern weaving equipment of the latest versions from the world leaders such as Schönherr (Alpha – 400), Van De Wiele (RCi02). The company increases the capacity of its polypropylene yarn production and twisting line using the modern SML extrusion spinning lines, Saurer Volkmann twisting machines for calibrated yarn production.
2016 – The company continues the active investment into the business development and increase of its capacities. The significant additional investments are made in equipment from the production of yarn and related machines that accompany the process of yarn and carpets production. The company expands the storage and production facilities, starts the construction of facilities where office premises and a retail store will be located for the sale of its own products.
2017 – In order to increase the capacities, increase of the production volumes, product range differentiation and reduction of production cost, in the 1st half of 2017, “KARAT” LTD buys the following equipment by means of the loan funds: 3 machines Allma Volkmann fror yarn twisting, 1 machine Power — Heat — Set GMBH for yarn heat-setting and 1 winding machine «GILBOS» for 60 yarns, 3 twisting and cabling machines Allma Volkmann for the production of the yarn, automatic winding machine of the type Gilbos and 4 weaving looms.
In 2017 the enterprise started the construction of two additional manufacturing and warehouse premises. One object was put into operation and registered in December 2017, the total area is 4399,7 sq.m.
2018 – In the 1st half of the year, our enterprise commissioned the second section of production and storage facilities. The installation was completed and all the production equipment was put into operation during 2017-2018. As of December 31, 2018, the company has 20 carpet weaving machines and 8 yarn spinning lines. For 2019, it is planned to increase the carpet production.
2019 – In the 3rd quarter of 2019 the company bought, installed and put into operation the 21st weaving machine. It is the first loom of this type (8-coloured, the width of the carpet products is 5 meters.).
As of today, KARAT is the only manufacturer of the carpet products in Ukraine and remains to be the leader in the field of selling the goods of its own and imported production. “KARAT” LTD manufactures the wide range of carpets and carpet products in the qualities of Frieze, BCF and Heat — Set. The carpet density if from 150 thousand to 1 million per square meter. As of today, the quality of the carpets remains at the very high level and is highly competitive with the world brands. In order to maintain such a high level, “KARAT” company continuously works in three directions: it develops the production, introduces the advanced technologies and improves an effective business model.
